Lists

I love Lists. Love to make them, love to compare them, love to talk about them. You know this. Basketball is still pretty far away from the 2010 opening to the season but i want to make a list documenting what i think will happen and then look back on it later.

Im all in!

You know i was thinking. How cool would it be if i could just live on playing poker. :) Just support me and my wife by playing a game. That would rock. I could imagine it now. They play games at different places every night of the week. I would need to win in a two week span ( like a bi-weekly check) 8 out of 14 times to make 800 dollars which would be a little more than i make every two weeks at my current job. Now that dosent even seem impossible. If the games are at least a hundred dollars for winners then im in the good. Then of course if i win those occasional big games..like a 500 dollar one or a two hundred dollar one, im ahead for the rest of the two weeks.. Considering some places play two games a night this isnt even that big of a stretch! I can see how people play so much, because you a legitamate chance to bring home cash if you play enough. Crazy. Throw in one more wrinkle. Online poker. If i could master that, and keep a heatlhy bankroll there, there would always be an influx of cash comin home to the wifey. :) That would make her happy. Get her all the goods she wanted ha. Anyways, it sounds cool. Wow.

Red Nation

Recently went to two rockets games back to back. It was a great time. Rarely does it come about that I get to go to one game a season, let alone two. The prices are just too ridiculous and im not too down with givin all my money, my left arm, and my first born to watch a basketball game. But i do love the rockets, im a trooper with them, whether they are good or bad. Passionate about a few things in life, My wife, church, basketball, and recently poker. Just really enjoy it. So, in a unbelievable once in a lifetime twist, we got tickets for free to back to back games. Great games both of them. One was a win, and one was a loss. The rockets are in wait mode this season as Yao gets heatlhy and we storm back and win everything next year. (you can tell im an optimist) But we were really competitive in both which is great. Brooks, Winston churchhill, scola and the rest of the gang play with hustle which you cant say about all teams because the platyers get paid millions and often times dont worry bout playing hard cause their paycheck is guarennteed! which i could go to work and say you know what, tonight i just dont fell like performing up to my capablities. but it dosent work that way. Anyways, Toyota Center was great, really there isnt a bad seat in the house. First game i went with my wife, my buddy blake, his dad, and our friend janelle and her buddy. Good times. 2nd game it was just me and my wifey which honestly might have made it even better. So when me and steph got home we were like well maybe we can buy tickets just once and go to another game. Ha yeaa right, we looked it up for seats against the lakers. For nosebleeds you have to pay 250.00 a ticket! Say whhhhaaaaaatttttt. Crazy. So we will wait , untill the next time, for a once in a while chance to come again!

Marriage-To Infinity and Beyond!

I recently tied the knot in October of last year. A lot was said about it, in terms of us being too young, and to unprepared for what life was to throw at us. Well, since we strapped on the ol' ball and chain i've never been more convinced that what people are saying is a load of crap. If you have found the one, that special, go to the ends of the earth to be with, one then there should be no problem. Now we have only been married for a little over four months so of course people are going to say, "Just wait, you'll see" but i think that what they are saying is we're not happy with our own lives, so we'd like to live through your single one and feel like we are not tied down. Now im not saying marriage is for everyone, kids seem to think that hey, lets just try this out and see if it works, like its a t-shirt you can try on and if it dosent fit, you can return. Losers. Anyways, what i am trying to say is marriage is underrated if you have the right person. Stephanie aka Mrs. Sharp is definitely the right person. Amazing, beautiful, and sexy in every way but with an attiude that will make you think twice about crossing her =] Side note:A lot of people have told me im better looking but its debateable HA. ( For you). Meanwhile as far as being prepared , i've never felt more so in my life. As a young adult you go through stages in your life where you feel lost, or unsure about what to do next. Most of the time years are wasted on partying, drugs, bad relationships, and procrastination. While i was not subject to the first three, i could see myself falling into the 4th one w/o proper avoidance. I mean who dosent just waste time, chillin, doing nothing. Point is, i see a lot of my friends falling into this trap. But i feel like me and Steph have found a path around that, not really though marriage, but more through challenaging each other, and pushing each other to new levels. She works at a bank and i work at Fedex. So we do pretty well. But we are never satisfied, never content. We dont want to stay where we are at, in a crappy town, surrounded by other crappy towns. We want more. So just some advice. If you find the right one, dont hesitate, dont waste time. Get to building, because time flies. Do something great in your life. Make something last. I know I will.

LOL

I will discuss my blogging plan in this post, which will be a quick heads up for all you readers so your not expecting anything different. Im going to try to do my best to get away from all silly juvielle words that kids use these days such as LOL, AND JK , etc. Not that my colums wont have you laughing, just that i dont feel the need to prove its a joke afterwards. If your intelligent enough to pick up on it on your own, then you my friend are a winner. Anyways, some quick topics that will be discussed in my blogs. My daily life and random adventures, Sports, Movies, Politics, Entertainment, Food, Games, and all the above. So yeaa, actually that was kinda vague. I will be talking about everything and if there is something you want to talk about we can talk about that as well.

A date with Destiny - A means to an end

Some say a date with Destiny only comes around every now and again but im one to disagree with that. I'm of the belief that she dates around a lot, giving many suitors their chance for that once in a lifetime experience. That's why I'm always looking, for different opportunities and chances, for Destiny to say "hey, today can be the day that you do something great, different and more than anything, new. " The point is for me, I've always wanted to write. Something. Anything. It didn't really matter. I liked it when i was a kid and lately I've been thinking about picking it back up. Does this make me a nerd? Yes, probably. Actually, that's almost a 100% yes. But I'm, ok with that, in fact i like it. I've typically been perceived as more of a preppy persona which is totally false. Maybe that will be a little more evident here but maybe not. Its all up in the air, i would say. So that's were the means to the end comes in. I'm not really doing this for an audience, at least for now. I'm doing it because i like to put things on paper ( or in this case a box with a spelling disorder that will tell me every time i make a mistake). I like making lists, and comparing things, and just talking. I think its mostly that last one. So actually that thing i said about not wanting an audience was a lie. I would love an audience. See, i don't always agree with everything i say, and neither should you. I want debate, i want people that believe in what their saying to say things. The worst thing that can happen is for an opinion to go unheard. Most of all i want inspiration, and a challenge from people. The things i write here will probably be from my own life and all the crazy things racing through my head. I hope to also throw in abstract stuff that makes no sense and is perhaps even completely irrelavant at times. Who knows? This might be the only thing i ever write on here, and it might be the beginning of something great. Only Destiny can tell and just like most women ( my wife included =] ) she's not always the easiest to read.
